Yay! I am mighty proud of myself now. I managed (in a totally crippled way)
to check my e-mail from Linux.

But you're gonna laugh when you hear how I have to do mail etc.
1. log in as root and run X
2. log in as paul and stay in ~/
3. as root run the 'network configurator' in the control panel and dial
into the server
4. in the paul-session do the fetchmail thing.
5. disconnect in X

I can run the control panel thing in X when I run it as Paul, but I cannot
get the dial up started. Probably has something to do with rights etc. again.
But I have come a step closer.

Another weirdy: I found out that, as Paul, I can run netscape. As root I
can't. So I can run X and load netscape, but since I can't dial in through
X as user Paul I can't do a thing with it. duh... *grin*

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it bigtime. I have
learned a tremendous lot already just reading stuff on this list!
Paul
