I had great luck using pppsetup by Robert DS. Liesenfeld.  You will also need
to load an application called dialog first, which is on the 5.0 CD.
Unfortunately, my ISP provided these to me, so you'll have to do a little
digging.

This wrote my chat and pap scripts.  I had to make one fix to the chat script ,
and I was off and running with my ISP.
