Hi, Question I. I have redhat 4.2 of Infomagic. I m hardly trying to connect to my Isp which accepts Pap Authentification. I went to configure network and Modem through Xwindows, did activate ppp0 interface, setted my Isp domain, activated Pap Authentification and configured successfully configured my modem. When I launched minicom, it dials to my Isp, My Isp accepts my username and password, gives me my dynamic adress, and tells me I m connected. Then ascii characters after 2 minutes, and I always get NO CARRIER. I did every how to s, contacted my Isp, configured etc/ppp-options, pap secrets, etc/host and Hostname and so..and so..Still having that problem. Question 2. Sometimes whn I install my Redhat 4.2 (with everything included), I have ppp loaded as a module. I realize that by doing modprobe ppp.o Sometimes, modprobe tells me there s no ppp on my system. Anyway, I wanna know: - When I run pppd, I just get garbage characters only. No dial, nothing.... when I run ppp-on or ppp-on-dialler, there s a mesage sayin it cannot find it. If I do a search, Sometimes I find ppp .sometimes not.
