Hey, gang...
I'm trying to dialout to my ISP. I've got everything dialout out okay,
but the strange thing is, although I've got my prompts, com ports, etc.
setup correctly et. al., linux isn't seeing the remote prompts. (either
using pppd or minicom method.) If it would make things easier, the ISP
is US West. Now, if I try dialing out using my terminal in Win95, it
sees the prmompts (Username: <blah> Password: <blah>) just fine, but
although the connection dials out and connects fine, it drops carrier
because the prompts don't appear! (I tested it with minicom.) Any
ideas? This is so FRUSTRATING! Or, alternately, I understand it could
be something odd with my modem...anyone have ideas about a good new
internal modem to get (hopefully one that's not software dependent in
any way.) I'd even settle for a 28.8 connection, if it would only work!
Waiting in frustration...
