have u set the login option in /etc/ppp/options file. (check documentaion
for that )

in any case the login, getty and init process creates entries for all
login and logouts in the wtmp file with info 1,2,4
u can use the "who" command to read the wtmp file as follows
who -H /absolute/path/where/wtmp/file/is/located | grep ttyS > mylog
nb.
1. serial devices are either ttyS* or ttycua* . grep accordingly
2. wtmp file generally is in /var/log/
3. assuming u clear up your wtmp file every week or so the above comman d
would work. else u will have to grep for a specific day also.
4. info 3 ie modem speed , is is really needed. because u would have
specified somewhere in /etc/mgetty+sendfax or /etc/gettydefs
