The consequence would be you'd need to build & install raptor and
rasqal first, and they'd have to be compatible versions. The
redland all-in-one tarball guarantees there are compatible ones
around.
To the extent that "compatible" versions of raptor pop out on a
different schedule, I'd prefer one tarball per library, assume the
user/builder can read and comprehend directions regarding the
dependencies, and ensure some level of sanity checks into autoconf for
those who fail. Those who want the convenience of the all-in-one may
ultimately be downstream consumers of binary packages anyway. (Okay,
that last bit is wild speculation on my part)
