The HRs and RBIs are above average - but it's the high OBP that really
get's Theo's juices flowing. Plus you put Holliday in a lineup where he
is flanked by guys like Pedroia, Youk and Bay, and suddenly he gets a
lot more pitches to hit. If I were in charge, I would make the deal.

8HR and 37 RBI's doesn't seem like something to lust over

Aren't we 1/3 into the season?

        3 x those numbers are 24HR and 11RBI's. Well, okay, the RBI's
look really good. Okay, I'm on the fence.

Aha!!!!! And I was caught up in the steroid era HR numbers.
Those numbers are great for post-steroid baseball. I've come full
circle in this e-mail Go get'em. I've never been a big fan of Buchholz.
Seems frail like Dennis Boyd.

As much as I like the guy, we have to face the fact that the
most likely trade bait in the Red Sox organization is Clay Buchholz. If
the Sox need another big bat, they are not going to get it by packaging
up Papi, Penny or Smoltz. But Buchholz is in BIG demand and will bring
a lot in return. The name that has surfaced lately is Matt Holliday.
What do you think about a Buchholz for Holliday trade? Holliday has a
.384 OBP with 8 HRs and 37 RBI. Those are numbers that Theo lusts
after. I would not be surprised to see something like that happen as we
approach the All-Star break.
