Of course, I took it the right way. I laughed.

You want to hear something worse that I'll admit here?

You know how some people think they can affect the outcome of the game
based on whether or not they are watching or there or something like
that?

I was at game four against the Yankees in 2004. I had a meeting the
next day early and I had to drive two hours to get there. I had to drop
off a guy from my company in the opposite direction of my home after
leaving the game. Business was really tense back then.

So ... here's my confession. As I got up to leave in the 8th or 9th,
whatever it was, the Sox were losing. I turned to the other two guys
seated with us and I said, "I'm not leaving because I think they're
going to lose. I'm sure the Sox will win and win it all. I just need
sleep or I'll fall asleep on the road tomorrow (which I'm known to do at
times). So ....I walked out of Fenway and then magic happened. I
watched them losing that game, confident and sure that they would come
back and I even said so as I left. But I missed it. I missed the
beginning of the biggest comeback ever down three games and losing in
late innings in the fourth game to the Yankees of all teams.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still didn't get to sleep at a decent hour after leaving the park,
walking to the Pru, getting my car, driving to Waltham, then driving to
Medfield, then turning on the TV to see that the glorious game was still
on the TV. Then .... Then .... Night after night of that late 1AM and
2AM stuff. Oh my God, that was torture. No one in New England could
function for days. Remember that?

With all due respect John F**K You. I WAS THERE AT GAME 3!!! The last
game of the miserable Yawkey Dynasty, and it was HORRIBLE. Worse than we
remember it, I assure you.

Don't so-call fan me. I paid $80 a ticket to have my soul hammered.

I'll probably never have that feeling again. I didn't have it in 1986
or any time before or after until 2004 down 0-3 to the Yankees. And it
was mainly because all the so-called fans had been weeping again. It
was beautiful.

Sounds to me like you are hedging. This way in 5 years you can say"I
called that WS win in '09", or if things don't work out you can say, "I
told you I wasn't locked in."

Couldn't be that emotional letdown I mentioned.

Yes, we win the WS (but I'm not locked in like 2004).

So I'm watching the Kansas City Royals score six runs in an inning, 11
runs over four innings, to overcome a six-run lead, and wondering if
anyone else is not yet sold on Daniel Bard.
