I don't blame him if he's upset at the team. They made him a lowball "take it or leave it" offer, then a year later offered basically the same money to Julio Freaking Lugo. (Think about it -- they offered him $40m/4 years -- and then a year later threw $36m/4 years at Lugo. That screams "insult." And don't get me started on $70m/5 years for JD "Ow! My hammy!" Drew.)
If he's upset at the fans, he's naive. He had to know when he signed for New York that Sox fans would turn on him. And after signing down there, it's not as if he could come back and say, "I'd have signed in Boston for $X" to paint the Sox in a bad light. That's not exactly the way to ingratiate yourself with the new employer. ________________________________ From: "Beaudoin, John" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tue, August 24, 2010 4:20:32 PM Subject: Re: Damon Claimed on Waivers He's just a dumb jock. No harm. I cheered when he came back. Anyone who booed is just an angry person. Schilling's wife isn't around any more. So Damon's stripper wife won't have that to worry about. What's the big deal? Doesn't he have a press guy? Doesn't he understand that if he came back and contributed, then he'd be welcomed? ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Sent: Tue Aug 24 13:14:48 2010 Subject: Re: Damon Claimed on Waivers Dear Johnny, Please grow a pair.
