Interesting item in the Globe today.
http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2010/12/03/deal_with_red_sox_remains_beltres_preference/

Beltre aparently wants badly to come back. I'm not sure I like the idea of
giving him a multi-year deal, but maybe he would remain focused if he played
in front of a full house every night?

>From the article....

Beltre said he was disappointed Victor Martinez left the Red Sox because the
two had become good friends. But he wasn’t surprised.
“I had a feeling that would happen because he wasn’t happy with how [the Red
Sox] approached it with him. But I would still come back. I liked playing
there and I want to be with a contender,’’ he said.

And even more intriguing...
Rivera reportedly re-signs Mariano Rivera has reportedly agreed to a
two-year, $30 million deal with the Yankees. *SportsIllustrated.com reported
the Red Sox and Angels made unsuccessful three-year offers* . . .

Do you think it's true?
