I doubt the Cubs would give up on him that fast. They can afford a long-term 
deal and play in a weak division. He can help them compete for the long-term. I 
don't think one poor season would change that.

My only concern here is that the Cubs may be open to trading him by the 
deadline 
if the Cubs aren't in playoff contention (very likely scenario) and that means 
the Yankees may get yet another try at him to add to their rotation.
