Not joking, actually.....

Again, if 'belovedness' is the criteria here, then who would be more beloved
than Damon, the original Idiot? I think fans
really connected with him and he certainly performed when he was here.

Johnny Damon?
Now I don't know if you're joking or not.
I remember him as the guy with the hot stripper wife who was rumored to have
gotten in a fight with another very prominent player's wife.

Oh, I think with time Manny might fall into that category. Yeah, he was a churl
when he left but I think plenty of folks, with time,
will just file that under the category of 'Manny being Manny'.

Funny to see Francona on here, considering he didn't play here. And if the
criteria is 'belovedness', it isn't complete without Johnny Damon.

I think this is a list of belovedness, not numbers. Neither Roger or Manny
are, or ever will be, beloved.

Guess it's not based on success while with the Sox.

This year the Red Sox tickets feature famous Red Sox rather than exciting 2011

Ted Williams
Pedro Martinez
Jimmie Fox
David Ortiz
Joe Cronin
Jim Rice
Dick Radatz
Johnny Pesky
Bobby Doerr
Rico Petrocelli
Carlton Fisk
Terry Francona
Bill Lee
Carl Yastremski

I have to say that if you had to pick an elite list of fame, then this is an
excellent list. There isn't one person here that causes you to say "who?"

I guess the notable omission is Curt Schilling. I would have been OK with
replacing Pedro with Curt.
