Actually, we are still .002 percentage points behind the Yankees.... ;-) Can you imagine how good the Sox will be when Pedroia and Youk really start hitting??
Something is strange with Lester. How many times did he look down at his front foot just after he released a pitch? He also seems to be working a lot slower than usual this year. Just hasn't been really sharp command-wise the last few starts. How good is Bard right now? He seems to be throwing a lot more breaking stuff than he did last year. That 84 mph slider that he has is killer when wedged between 100mph fastballs. The guy is ready to take over for Papelbon. Can we proclaim that the Jenks experiment in Boston is over? The guy is pathetic. Papi is locked in. Doesn’t seem to matter if the pitcher is lefty or righty – he is just raking. Looks like the ‘06/’07 version of himself again. Lester is looking shaky. He was fortunate to come away with the win last night. First place … we’ll take it. Seems like his 200th save was a typical one for him for the past several years, a little 'interesting'.... Pretty cool that he is the fastest to 200 saves, beating Rivera by 23 games. Also neat that it came against the Yankees. Cool stat from Pete Abraham - The Red Sox and Yankees are 87-87 over the last 10 seasons. In the last 98 games, the Red Sox have scored 540 runs and the Yankees 541.
