I think the Boston sports fan base has evolved as a result of recent success. We've shrugged off that loser mentality that we collectively had for so long that we now understand that sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. I agree that in the past we all kind of liked that long-suffering loser identity (I think the new holder of that is Cleveland sports fans) but now we accept defeat in stride having seen both sides. I have an 11 year old Boston sports fan and he gets it. He's seen all the teams win and he's seen them all lose and he has much healthier attitude than I did.
