I suspect, without looking, that the Sox have a lot more wins by, say, 10 or more runs, than the Rays. That still counts as only 1 win but would certainly drive up the run differential.
Just did a quick scan - the Sox have 7 wins of 10 or more runs (including 2 in Sept), and a LOT by 5 or more runs....
