I argue that if they are not rebuilding then they are falling into the trap that ensared the Yankees in the 80's. You can't keep hoping against hope that a team like the 2012 Red Sox will amount to anything. If you keep telling yourself that you're close to a playoff run, then you don't make the moves you need for the future.
