I suspect the fact that the Angels didn't make the play-offs also contributed.

I'm with the stat guys on this one, actually. I can't complain about Cabrera's 
winning because he had a monster season (although the Triple Crown seems like 
an outdated achievement). But if I'm picking my team I'll take 2012 Trout over 
Cabrera any day.
