I'm conflicted about this as well. We do have a chance to see whether
Middlebrooks can be a player or not. I think Bogaerts will be,
and will be at SS, at least for a few years, so I hesitate to bring in Drew
simply because I'd like to see the two of them. And the Sox
certainly have the credibility right now, after last year, to experiment. OTOH,
I want to win and having Drew on the roster I think makes
the team better. Hence, my conflict.

Subject: Drew

So should Ben make something work with Drew?  Part of me really wants to see
Bogaerts and Middlebrooks get a chance to prove themselves.  But the near-term
depth chart on the left side of the infield looks kind of shallow.  Drew isn't
spectacular or flashy, but he is solid.  If they do re-sign Drew, Middlebrooks
is probably most impacted.
