Keep in mind Glenn that most these people giving you this advice are used
to working on 55-75 gal.tanks with very small amts.of live rock.current in
these tanks is not a problem BUT,on a 500 gal.tank you do not simply
reclean the rock in a few hrs.and add more current with another powerhead
or remove excess nutrients with 1 500 gal mix of remover.Every project on
these tanks is exactly that and if this guy is being this cheap you may
want to give the whole situation more thought because you know if anything
goes wrong, like the algae comes back,it'll all be your fault.Sounds to me
like he wants to do a mansion on a camper budget and you'll be carrying the
brunt of the load.
