With the discussion on resiliconing, thought I would just add this tip.
When resiliconing, trying to make the join etc neat is a nightmare, using
wet fingers, washing up liquid etc.
Instead (daft as it might sound), buy a few potatoes. Cut them up to the
shape you want and use them. (The inside surface.....)
You will find that the silicone will not stick to the potatoe. Goes on
really smoothly and somehow helps it to stick better. It even works on oily
parts of cars which haven't been cleaned 100%.
