Well then I assume it is working fine, cause it sure stinks, what about the
amount?? how much is a good amount to be skimmed out of a tank, i have a
100 gallon tank, lightly loaded right now.

Its not really the consistency or the color. Just as long as the stuff reeks
to all hell. Then your skimmer is working ok. I have one of Ron's skimmer on
my tank, and if i let it go for a few days without cleaning it. It starts to
stink up the room.
