All,
I have an open brain coral that, when I first bought it, I put the base of
into a rock that had a hole in it. The coral has since attached to the rock
(the flesh of the coral has grown onto the rock in areas). Now here is my
problem. A bristle worm has moved into that rock as well, and has decided to
make his home between the coral and the rock. So, he is irritating the
coral. It no longer opens, and actually stays shriveled up all day long. I
can see the stinking worm moving around but can not remove the coral from
the rock without damaging the flesh of the coral. I have tried to lure the
worm out far enough to grab him with some tweezers, but he wont come far
enough out to catch (I used krill and silversides). I have tried lifting the
rock and coral to see if I could get at him in another direction, but I
cant. So, my question is this.... do any of you have any suggestions to get
this worm out of the rock where my coral is. I would rather not have to
remove the coral from the rock if possible (last resort type of thing). I
thought about a bristle worm trap, but don't know if they actually work.

Thoughts anyone??

TIA

Shane C.
