Thanks all for your lighting responses - I appreciate the input. Whichever
system I end up deciding on, I like the open tank with suspended lighting
look. Much less effort to do the "housekeeping" chores and fun to see the
clams from the top. I've been searching the net and found a great system
(Arcadia in England) on some kind of pulley making it really easy to adjust
the distance above the tank. Has little flaps to keep the light out of your
eyes and directed down in the tank, pretty cool looking imo. Unfortunately
it's only available in Europe. Anyone have a fluorescent or
halide/fluorescent combo hood that's suspended above the tank and looks
nice?
