Glenn,   Ron H gave me this information for VHO bulbs back in November...Since then every thing is so-much better...   He recommends URI bulbs for the actinic (blue-only) spectrum..."Triton and Ultralume" are brand names for daylight bulbs...He does not recommend them.  Pick up a Pet Warehouse Catelogue...you should see these names   The daylight lamp he recommends (for 5 years+) is the Sylvania VHO product he sells at the shop.  I was dead-set to use the URI daylight lamps and 9 months after I did... the "alage" started (red-shift on the daylight lamps). In December-January 2001, I re-lamped with the Sylvania product and you should see how the corals act...AS USUAL RON H. I can't find the Ultralume bulb anywhere and was wondering what it was similar to from another manufacturer.   Thanks for all the suggestions concerning my friend's 500 gallon tank.   Just to let you know he chickened out and sold the tank for $1000.
