Hi:
Some may find this useful.
To handle the small leaks that seem to inevitably happen with my under
cabinet equipment, I lined the bottom of my cabinet with plastic sheeting
from a old water bed, I then spread a 1/2 inch layer of floral gel on the
bottom , then my equipment was elevated on 2 inch risers. Now whenever
there is a leak, the gel soaks up the water. The saturated gel can then be
vacuumed out.
This has worked well for me for leaks up to several gallons. It all depends
on the amount floral gel you use.
For those of you not familiar with floral gel. It is used by florist as a
spill proof way to keep plant watered. The gel is soaked in water where is
absorbs several times it's weight in water, then mixed with soil to keep the
plants supplies with water. It is also the same material used in dippers to
keep the moisture away from the baby.
