moving fishes etc

Hello all of you,   I will take over the equipment and contents of a reef aquarium (not the aquarium). Do I have to use all of part of (how much %) the water of the old aquarium or can i put the fishes,shrimps,corals, etc in new made fresh sea water in the new aquarium?   Peter (from Holland)
