Well fortantly the stairwells are carpetted so sliding it is the plan.  The 
trick will be holding the thing so it doesent slide DOWN the stairs and break 
or worse squish someone.  I mentioned it being on end because I have a 
dolly.  So I thought putting it on a dolly would make it a whole lot easier 
then trying to carry this thing.

not certain.  it certainly would put alot of stress on the end piece, but 
how would you move it that way?  for interest i checked with seastar who 
manufacture glass 180's...320 lbs!!

john rice has a great website (don't recall the address) documenting moving 
in his 400.  he built a "slide" structure for moving it down the stairs.
