Hi. The frag is probably a 2-3 inch frag with 4 branches. I have had it for
probably a month or two. It is about 4-5 inches from the bottom of the
tank, had a strong current on it but I turned it down this morning. The frag
was from a large colony that I had, I took the frag then took the colony
back to the LFS. I then moved the frag up in the tank, towards the top (I
read that they will do well under high or low light conditions and had a
good spot towards the top so I decided to give it a try). After about 2
weeks, I noticed it was opening, but not as much as it should have been, so
I moved it down. that was 3-4 weeks ago. It had been opening fine (much
better than on top), no problems and seemed to like the decrease in light
and increase in current. That was until a few days ago. Now, this condition
has started. I have also noticed that the mother colony was a bright bright
yellow when I brought it home. The colony started to darken in my tank, and
the frag, I noticed this morning, is a dark yellow, almost green/brown,
towards the bottom and only the top quarter is a yellow color anymore. I
know corals will change colors in different tanks, so I was not that
concerned, but that may also be indicating a problem?

Alkainty 4.5 meqs
pH 8.2 ish
Calcium 450 ppm

Thanks,
Shane

Hi, Shane. How big is the frag, how long have you had it, and what
lighting
and current is it in? You should do nothing to stress this frag
right now
except ensure mild to moderate lighting and current.
