Have you tried vitamin C?  I use it in my reef tank when a fish isn't doing
so well.  I have been told that it helps with corals as well.  I have never
seen any adverse affects to my corals or other inverts.  Just make sure to
monitor your pH and use the natural stuff with no preservatives etc..  Not
sure of the dosage, but you could do a search on Albert's web site.  I just
throw about (10) 500 mg. tablets into the sump of my 125 gallon tank for a
few days when I notice a sick fish.  I swear it helped my purple tang get
over ick!  FWIW
