Hi Shane
Sorry to hear about the corals! I hope the tables below help with your SG/temp question. Don't know if it's what you're looking for or not. Charts are from Natural Reef Aquariums by John H. Tullock. Once you figure salinity, you should shoot for a range of 34 - 36 for inverts. Using your temp of 79, and reading of 1.024, gives a conversion factor of 0.0027, which added to your SG reading gives a density of 1.0267. Taken from the bottom chart, the density reading gives a salinity of 36, at the high end of where you want to be. Natural sea water in the vicinity of most coral reefs is 35 according to Tullock, so you should be OK. Hope this helps.

ESTIMATING SALINITY FROM SPECIFIC GRAVITY
When the specific gravity of aquarium water is
measured with a hydrometer, the salinity of the water can be calculated if the
temperature is also known. First, convert the temperature reading to
Celsius, by using the following formula: degrees C = 0.56 (F-32)
Next, read across to find the temperature in the
first table below, Conversion of Observed Hydrometer Readings to Density.
Read down that column to the row corresponding to the hydrometer reading.
The number in the table is a conversion factor, which should be added to the
hydrometer reading. The result is the density reading of the water.
For example, if the temperature in your tank is 22 degrees Celsius and your
hydrometer reading is 1.0230, the conversion factor (0.0016) should be added to
your hydrometer reading, resulting in a density reading of 1.0246. Then refer to
the table, Conversion of Density to Salinity. There you find that your
density calculation of 1.0246 gives a salinity reading of approximately
33.
