look at the claws....are they serated like picers (its a predator if they
are and remove immediately)or do the claws have a little flat plate at the
end, in which case it is an algae scraper and eater...I have one just the
same in a 250 gal that is perfectly safe, and hes about 3 inches
across....the elbows are white and the body a brown red lumpy shape.

Subject: scary crab

Hi,

I adjusted my light times last night, and my actinics kicked back on. To my
surprise, there was a realllllly ugly crab staring at me.

It was dark red to brown in color, about 2 to 3 inches across, and all of
its back legs had a light brown hair on them. Its top shell was very bumpy,
kinda flat round bumps. Does anyone know what kind of crab this may be, and
have any suggestions on how to get it out.

This tank is only a few months old, and I did have a couple damsels
disappear, now I have a yellow tang, Clarki, Lawnmower blenny. I sure don't
want to lose one of them.

Help!
