Hi all, i need your advice once again.
I went yesterday to my lfs and i saw a green open brain coral,, oohhh what
a pretty coral!!!!!!!!! and it was very big, about 10" and cost 45 bucks.
So i told the salesman to save it for me and i would go to pick it up on
monday.
Now my question is this: what kind of water parameters does this coral
need?? max. nitrates on the water, does phosphates harm them?? light???
I have ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 10-12 ppm, phosphates : i dont know.
light: 2 x 40watts actinic bulbs, 2 x 40 watts full espectum bulbs.
A top fathom 300A skimmer, wet/dry filter, fluidized filter, 60 lbs of live
rock, uv lamp (not running), a sump tank with caulerpa (not running yet but
in one week). I change all my fibers every 2 days. a 4AMDQ LG pump.
I have already some polips with me for about 7 or 8 months, and are doing
great.
So is my tank ready for corals??? im just planing to add this open brain,
a regular brain coral and a moonstone coral.
The salesman told me nitrates only affect corals if they are above 70ppm (
i dont think so!!).
Please help!!!
Marco
