Jets & standard RIOs have a venturi on the outlet side. For applications
like my skimmer RIO makes the RVT that has a rejuvenation venturi that takes air
in on the suction side for more air flow & smaller bubbles. I did not know,
until Jose showed me, that Premium Aquatics sells a kit to make Maxi Jets
function the same way.
Chris
Actaully they do. They come with a
ventura similar to the rio s

Maxi jets don't work the same. I need a pump that
takes in air through the impeller with the water.
Chris
change it with Maxi Jet 1200
I have an Excalibur skimmer & I think the
RIO is an 800. The pump is connected to the skimmer with a piece
of 1/2" vinyl tubing, so the connection should be easy if there is
a similar pump.
Chris
which skimmer are you running and what model
of RIO do you have?

When these pumps burned up, did any of them
cause a problem or poison anything in your tank?
All
My skimmer came with a Rio rejuvenation
venturi pump installed & all this bad press is making me
nervous! Does anyone know of a replacement venturi
pump?
TIA
