Water is a magnet for pesticides or cigarrete smoke, anything you spray in that room will be absorbed by the water. I haven�t sprayed any pesticide or have smoked or let anyone to do it in my room, where my tank is. I wouldn�t like to kill a mosquito in my room with insecticide and waking up will all my fishes dead. It�s just not worth it. I preefer to live with mosquitoes from time to time. Marco
