UV sterilizer will help you to control any disease like ich, in which the bacteria or virus floats in the water at some stage of its life. UV sterilizers control a disease, they never erradicate nor they be the perfect cure for everything, but they are a great aid in helping diesases and improving water quality. I would recommend you to improve your water quality and keep it at constant parameters, like density and specially temperature. Ich is aften produced by temp. fluctuations. I feed my fishes at the same hour every day, lights go on and off at the same time more or less (i don�t have a timer), density is always the same and temp only fluctuates a little in the day. They have many places to hide, I don�t introduce my hands unless it is very necesary, etc. In case they have some white spots, let the fish recover by himself unless that is a severe case. Fortunately fish are very hardy and they will recover all by themselves. Good luck Marco
