Twice a year is what I do. I go by my orp when it starts to get around 360
then I do a water change of about 40 G on a combined 200G system. Now I'm
not suggesting that if your orp is 360 you need a water change. But my
system runs at about 410 but slowly degrades after a few months. So I do a
water change and
run carbon and the orp returns. But I also have alot of other factors or
signs that are personal to my setup which maybe different from others.
