Title: RE: Shrimp

Coral banded shrimp are also reef safe. I don't think they serve a purpose though, other than decoration & maybe clean up a few stray food particles.

Camel shrimp are bad. Cleaner shrimp are good. So are peppermint shrimp.
Camel shrimp will eat corals and polyps. Also, peppermint shrimp will eat
polyps, but only if you have too many of them in a tank. You can usually add
2-3 of them okay, but they seem to go for polyps when you add 4-5 or more.
The advantage of peppermints is they eat aptasia anemones. The advantage to
cleaners is they will help keep your fish free of parasites. The
disadvantage to both is they will steal food from your LPS corals. A nice
mix would be a couple of cleaners and a couple of peppermints.
