I came across this report during the week originating from the Association of Research Libraries in the USA: The Research Library's Role in Digital Repository Services Final Report of the ARL Digital Repository Issues Task Force (January 2009) http://www.arl.org/bm~doc/repository-services-report.pdf Early in 2008, the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) convened a Digital Repository Issues Task Force to evaluate trends, contextualize current activities among ARL member libraries and recommend leadership roles and activities: this offers their conclusions, which I thought may be useful to the list members.
