GENERAL INFORMATION
Library is a source of information that has an important role to collect,
manage and share information to users. In global era, the need to access
information for community is getting increasing. Through the development of
information technology, library can change management system from manual and
static system to electronic and dynamic system. There are some system and
new concept that will change the management that is more dynamic and more
interactive management.
The information management is mostly focus the orientation on users. One of
the new concept is Library 2.0 which is adapted from the concept of Web 2.0.
Library 2.0 is a specific system that fulfill the change
paradigm from 'system-oriented' to 'user-oriented'. The users -together with
Library 2.0- are participated to fertilize the information availability,
include the on line system, such as the OPAC system. It is used to reinforce
the information channel from user to library.
With Library 2.0, library service is always being renewed and
evaluated continuously in accordance with the need of user and service to
user. Library 2.0 is used by users to arrange and apply service. Users have
to take part and give feedback.
By attending this seminar and workshop, participants will know better what's
the most suitable system to manage their library.
AIMS
The seminar and workshop aims participants will have an intensive
discussion on Library 2.0 and some other system on library information
system and get a new paradigm to have more interactive and user-oriented
information service.
