I am wondering if there are contractors out there that do a combination of Project Management and Information Architecture. If so can I get some recommendations, advice, cost estimates, anecdotes, etc..
I am a Web Programmer for the UT College of Fine Arts and we want to do a site rebuild but our current work load prevents us from being able to do it "right". The current site is, http://www.finearts.utexas.edu/ (not including the sub-sites linked to in the top nav.) My goal is to propose to the College that they hire a contractor to help us manage the project -- requirements gathering and info architecture. This kind of help would be extremely beneficial. Unfortunately, I am a bit skeptical that they will go for it. Still, it can't hurt to ask and any help I can get in understanding the role I am looking for and the associated costs will help me make my case. Note that I'm not at all in the position to offer a job. I am just trying to gather some information. Please feel free to contact me off list.
