Dave, I am no accountant, nor no UI expert. I do like http://www.mint.com a lot for the simplicity of managing finances. If you have not seen their interface, take a peek at it. What I like about it more than anything else is that it takes the "threatening" out of the interface, yet still has some really cool controls (once you tie one account into it you will see what I mean).
