Hello Austin! I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to the group, let you know what some of my self-proclaimed technical "super powers" are, and hopefully find out about some of YOUR super powers, all in an effort to promote the true spirit of the 'net and "share what ya know".
My name is Doug Boude (rhymes with 'loud'), and I am a senior web developer living in San Antonio. My primary development language is ColdFusion (over 9 years), but also breathe anything database or Javascript. Not one who likes to be left in the dark, I have also done development with PHP, .NET (using the MVC framework), and Ruby on Rails. Recently, I have begun a quest to devour Flex and ActionScript 3 and have been learning a lot from attending the RIA group here in town as well as Lynda tutorials. For the past four years I've migrated from procedural coding to almost exclusively using an object oriented approach, and so am keenly interested in any of the web frameworks out there such as pureMVC, ModelGlue, and Coldbox (MVC), Coldspring (IOC), Reactor, Subsonic, and Transfer (ORMs). As far as Javascript, I'm particularly fond of Prototype and Scriptaculous, and have used them quite heavily on several projects. Let's see...I've worked government contracts there in Austin as recently as this past year and had the displeasure of having to incorporate auto-generated Java proxies into a new app I was building. I typically hit three user group meetings here in SA a month, followed up with some "deep thinking" at the Flying Saucer (beer extravaganza). So...care to share your super powers?
