Hello everyone - I am working on a pretty involved project and thought I would throw this one out to the group -
I need to be able to identify the Mac OSX version (i.e. 10.4 vs 10.5) via the browser prior to preparing a download for the customer. For most versions of Safari / Firefox this is not an issue as it is nicely provided through the navigator.userAgent property. However, in older version of Safari 3 (< 3.1) the user Agent string does not provide the OS Version (simply states Mac OS X). I have noticed that WebKit version is stated clearly enough, and at first thought this might be helpful. As far as i can tell though, there is not a particular version I could look for in 10.5 to denote that operating system. Has anyone run into this problem with older versions of Safari 3? Is there a reliable solution? Thanks a bunch - Bert --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Our Web site: http://www.RefreshAustin.org/ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Refresh Austin" group.
