Hi Jonathan,

This line caught my eye:

If you're thinking of becoming a serious PHP programmer then this suggestion
probably doesn't apply. But, if you're merely trying to add some php-based
functionality to your services offering I might suggest you look at some
terribly useful Dreamweaver extensions from WebAssist (www.webassist.com).
They offer numerous wizard interfaces for creating data-driven web
applications that are very reasonable. They basically generate all of the
code for you including data connections and bindings, etc., based on the
settings you specify in the wizards.

I don't fancy myself a PHP developer by any means, but I can offer my
clients all sorts of php solutions like cookie-based user registration, web
form backends for storing and retrieving data (MySQL) and
uploading/downloading various file types, web forms with Captcha, etc,
etc... Oh, and they have a whole slew of front-end wizards as well. Sorry to
sound like an infomercial, but these extensions each paid for themselves the
first time I used them and now they're mine to use ad infinitum. And I do.

Again, this is just if you're wanting to extend your services offering, not
as a training solution.

Cheers,
Art
