Adding this tag will fix your problem I believe.

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />

Add this as the first meta tag under the <head> tag above all other
tags or it won't work. This will kick IE8 into using IE7 Standards
mode by passing IE8 bad rendering.
