We'll continue our dive into all things Javascript this month with a
look at various ways to apply JavaScript in sites/applications.
Topics include:
* Quick-fire, round-the-round project demos, general JavaScript Q&A,
etc. (if you want 5 minutes to show off something or ask a question
about anything, just speak up!)
* Optimizing web sites for performance
-- Jason Swett will talk to us about Steve Souders' "Even Faster
Web Sites" (EFWS) optimization techniques
* LABjs: we'll refresh our look at this tool and how it has changed
since last month
-- Kyle will compare/contrast LABjs to Souders' EWFS techniques
more in depth
-- Joe will show off a demo he did of LABjs, to give it a more
concrete usage context
* jQuery document.ready() gotcha alert
* Building web/desktop hybrid apps with Appcelerator's
-- Joe will show his tr.im URL shortening demo project
-- Joe will also give us a high level overview of the framework
API for developing apps
As always, this is more discussion than presentation format. We highly
encourage participation, questions, and most importantly
PARTICIPATION! Bring your laptop and fire away!
