I'd love to find some Refresh Austin members to share this space with me! Wouldn't you like to have an office downtown? Shared with creative, fun, hardworking people like yourself?
Right now there's a group office space in one of the 501 studios buildings, *just down the hall from Progress Coffee* with 5 desks in it (plus two skylights :) and a common area (as well as internet, printer, etc.). For just $160 - 200/month (depending on your spot) you could call one of these desks yours. The building is full of creative people: designers, writers, filmmakers, a dressmaker ... and you would have round-the-clock access to the building and the office, including a parking lot where you can always find a space, from which downtown is an easy walk away. And if you need a break, take a walk to Cheer Up Charlies, East Side Showroom, or take a client to Buenos Aires Cafe - there are a number of hip places close by. Give your freelance self a chance to get out of the house without worrying if you'll be able to find a plug for your laptop at the neighborhood coffee shop, and find camaraderie and free networking with other freelancers whose skills may just complement yours. There are 4 open desks available, for a total of five including me (freelance user experience designer), so let me know immediately if you're interested since these will go fast. And if you know someone (trustworthy and cool) who might be interested, if you'd do me the favor of forwarding this to them, I'd appreciate it and you'd be doing your part to keep Austin creative flourishing.
