If you are in technology, you might want to learn what is proposed about the re-authorization of the SBIR funding (Small Business Innovation Research) program.

This federal program provides an actual grant (actually 3 levels of grant funds leading to commercialization) and has been available through all federal agencies. My father had one before they were called SBIRs.

To read about this, go to www.SBIRreauthorization.com. There is also an open letter from my former Accelerator client Gary Marsden, President of Trout Green Technologies, Inc., who is very savvy SBIR awardee. Gary is from Austin.
