Wow! Thanks for forwarding this to the RA list, Carl. We had a few
people come out who saw it here.

Anyway, hi, I'm Vitorio, don't make it to many Refresh Austin meetings
now that I don't work downtown :(, but every other Monday I run a
design workshop up north a bit on Anderson Lane. I try and do
different exercises each time to get people thinking about design
problems in new ways, and to get practice on aspects of design they
might not get in their day jobs.

Last night we did a brainstorming exercise, sketching out different
sorts of calendaring designs, the time before that was metrics
(measuring your UIs for efficiency) and we did usability and design
critiques of Yelp.com and local business BuildASign.com the time
before that (the BuildASign folks came out for that one).

I can't make it to tonight's RA meeting, but if anyone would like to
get some regular web design practice in (good for developers as well
as designers!), please come on out! Or if you're a company that needs
design help and want to have 10-15 designers chew on a problem as one
of our exercises, drop me a line.

http://vi.to/workshop/ is kept updated with details of upcoming
meetings, and I post it on GeekAustin, Door64, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Best,
Vitorio
