Austin UPA is happy to present "Storytelling your way to a better user
experience" with Whitney Quesenbery

We all tell stories. It's a natural way to communicate. But do stories have
a place in the world of business? This talk will look at how stories can
improve your UX work, focusing on using stories to share user research,
explain design ideas, and even sell them to colleagues and management. We'll
try to answer these questions:

   - Why does storytelling start with listening?
   - How do stories communicate efficiently?
   - What is the Story Triangle?
   - And how can this help you enhance your practice?

*Whitney Quesenbery* is a user researcher and usability expert with a
passion for clear communication. As the principal consultant for Whitney
Interactive Design (wqusability.com) she works with companies around the
world to develop usable web sites and applications. Whitney served as
President of UPA (Usability Professionals' Association), and past-manager of
the STC Usability SIG. As director of the UPA Voting and Usability Project,
and a member of two US federal advisory committee, she works to ensure the
usability of voting systems and to update the US accessibility regulation
known as “Section 508”. Her book with Kevin Brooks, *Storytelling in User
Experience Design* is published by Rosenfeld Media.
